PEER ACTIVITY SUPPORT WORKER POSITIVE TRIBES PROGRAMME
STAR Easy Street Outreach team works within the STAR Project Ballymun,
providing outreach based community supports to people who require
support in relation to substance use and additional needs.
The activity support worker role is a new role for **Apply on the
website** hours per week for a fixed period of **Apply on the
website** weeks on a pilot basis and is funded by Dublin City council.
The role is to help support our new outreach bus that will be in
operation soon. The bus will be operating within the Ballymun area in
order to work more closely with our community engaging people who
might not easily access services & can benefit from the services the
bus / mobile service will have on offer. The support worker role/s
will be supervised by experienced members of the Easy Street Outreach
team and Team leader.
THE SKILLS FOR THIS ROLE NEED TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
* Ability to connect well with people in the local area.
* Able to always act with confidentiality.
* Able to work on own initiative and take direction from Easy Street
Team members.
* Able to work comfortably in the heart of a community setting.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* An understanding of substance use and its impacts/ harms
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS:
* To be energetic and motivated
* Skills set in music, sports, organising small events
* Interest in diverse culture
* Experience in working within a community setting
TIMES /DAYS
* The days and times expected are evening and weekend.
* Tuesday, Thursday evening time, Saturday afternoon, this is
subject to change
